About Eric
I was raised in Overland Park and graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School, before earning dual degrees in Business and Art from Kansas State University. My wife, Jessica, and I purchased our first home in Merriam while expecting our son, Xander. Eight years later, with our daughter, Summer, on the way, we realized we needed more space and began exploring Johnson County.
Despite touring numerous neighborhoods, we found ourselves continually drawn back to Shawnee. It offers that ideal blend of small-town warmth and big-city amenities, with convenient access to the entire Kansas City metro. We were particularly excited by the revitalization of Downtown Shawnee—we could envision its potential, and over the past six years we’ve delighted in seeing that vision coming to life. We cherish Shawnee’s parks, pools, dining and entertainment options, Old Shawnee Days, Moonlight Markets, and so much more.
Professionally, I serve as a Sales Manager for Elavon Merchant Services, leading a team of ten representatives across the Midwest. I’m an active member of the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce, a 2023 graduate of its Shawnee Tomorrow Leadership Program, and a current participant on its Government Action Committee. I’ve volunteered with Climate Action KC and the Climate and Energy Project, and I remain deeply committed to sustainable, resilient community growth.
My first City Council campaign in 2021 ended in a narrow loss to a seasoned incumbent, but I refused to step back. I immediately took on the role of precinct leader in my ward, and I continue to knock on doors in every election cycle—listening, learning, and strengthening my resolve to serve. I believe every resident deserves to feel welcome, heard, and empowered, and I’m eager to help Shawnee seize new opportunities for improvement and inclusion.
