Eric’s Priorities

A Welcoming Community

I aim for everyone to feel welcome in Shawnee and for residents to feel a sense of belonging and that their voices matter. Shawnee is a bustling and vibrant suburb where everyone feels at home. City Council should listen to, understand, and reflect the needs of our community. I will listen to our neighbors to ensure we meet the needs of everyone in our community.

Attract and Retain Locally Owned Businesses

I will champion policies and partnerships that empower local entrepreneurs, strengthen our business ecosystem, and keep the economic benefits right here in Shawnee. As a long-time member of the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce, I understand the importance of being an advocate for our local business owners and for making Shawnee a welcoming place for entrepreneurs to want to open shop.

Economic and Environmental Resiliency

I am committed to sustainable development. Our city must grow in a way that respects our environment and preserves the quality of life for future generations. I will champion initiatives that promote green spaces, renewable energy, and smart urban planning. We can build a city that is both prosperous and environmentally responsible.

Providing More Attainable Housing Options

I will champion policies and partnerships that increase the supply of affordable and workforce housing so families, seniors, and first-time buyers can thrive in Shawnee. Shawnee is an amazing place to work, live, and play. We need to make it viable for anyone who wants to call our city home.

Community Engagement & Government Transparency

Together we can create a unified Shawnee, and as your councilmember I will encourage engagement and welcome feedback, acting with integrity to serve the best interests of our community. Shawnee, Ward 2, and all of Shawnee deserves a champion who will listen to constituents, listen to the expertise of city staff and the planning commission, and take appropriate actions based on real information.
